Miss Dynamite's 3rd birthday!

Well even though it seems like our little dynamite's been around forever, she actually only turned 3 on Monday....so a few weeks ago Aunty Mell had the genius idea of making her party a cool get together for the adults as well as the kids, which meant Ella got to have a jam packed house full of all the coolest people for her birthday!!

There was us, Aunty Natty & the boys, Aunty B & Uncle Pete, 2 lots of Halls lol (Bex & Keithy + Summer & Kalem), Nikki & Matt & a whole lotta kids :) :) Oh & Uncle Carl too (the biggest kid of them all haha)

There are some awesome cooks in that group of people so the food totally didn't disappoint!! And even though it was raining outside, the kids were more than happy to have an indoor picnic on Uncle Joe's jujitsu mats :)

After dinner it was the cutest thing ever to watch them all squish up on the couch like sardines to watch Cloudy with a chance of meatballs...

And check out this cake!!! Isn't it just the coolest!! Aunty Mell made the cake & then Uncle Joe did the awesome icing!! Apparently working with concrete uses the same skill set as cake decorating, which I wouldn't have known, but obviously so as it came out just perfect!! Can't wait to see what he does for Seffy & Faithy babe's cakes now :)

It was so super yummy too!! Would kill for a piece right now!!

Happy School Days - Mac's first day of School

This post is sooooo long overdue since Mac started school on the 3rd of April almost 2 months ago now, but I just realised as he was starting in his proper class this Monday that I never put up the pics from his actual first day at school, so here they are.....

Super duper excited!!!

Jumped straight on the computer - surprise, surprise!!

Can't believe our baby Mac is now a big school boy. He didn't have any reservations about starting & hasn't missed a beat since! The caretaker called me over as I arrived to pick him up after his first day & told me that he could already tell that he was going to settle in just fine as he had gone straight to the P.E shed on his first lunch break, grabbed a basketball & gone straight over to the hoop to play with the bigger boys lol.

He spent his first 6 weeks with Miss Grace in Room 1 (the new entrants class) & as of Monday this week, he is now in Room 3 with Miss Hoffman.

Mac & Miss Grace on his last day of New Entrants on Friday.
Her name has always reminded me of Miss Honey off Matilda...
Such a perfect name for a New Entrants teacher - she was such a sweetie like Miss Honey too :)
I'm so glad Mac had such a lovely teacher to give him a really good first experience of school!

Mac's thank you card for Miss Grace to go with her choccies

Oh no!!

Yesterday afternoon Spence & I were at home together while Stan & Mac were out at a bodybuilding show with Kris & Jackson. Spence had a nice long afternoon nap & then was just pottering around doing his own thing while I started making dinner.

After awhile he called me from his room to "come look" so I went in to find him in the cot putting blankies on himself & pretending to sleep. He looked so cute with his eyes squeezed shut, but a big smile on his dial, so it wasn't until after a few moments that the thought came to mind "hold on a minute! How did he even get in there?!"

I lifted him back out & then went into the hall to peek around the corner & watch how he'd managed it, & sure enough he climbed up onto the cot & from their onto his drawers & then just jumped in! He then crossed over to the other side of the cot, pulled himself up & slid himself down the other side again. Arrgghh!!! We can no longer keep our cheeky monkey in his cage :(

Here's the photo diary of how it went. Sorry about the crap iphone quality....

I have to admit that it was pretty cool that doing this over & over kept him amused for at least an hour (his brother came home half way through & joined in)....What wasn't cool though was him getting out again after he was put in bed last night & getting out as soon as he wanted to this morning :( No more letting him sing & babble away to himself if I'm not quite ready to get up in the morning :( And no more baby that needs a cot anymore :(

We swapped Mac over to his Thomas bed when he turned two (& he hadn't even tried climbing out of the cot by then!), but I had actually decided that we would keep Spence in the cot as long we could, so unfortunately that plan has just turned to custard!! Thanks a lot Trouble!!
