Spider's 1st Birthday Party

On Saturday just gone we had Spency Wency Spider's 1st birthday party. I'd originally planned to have the party on his actual birthday, the week before, but had postponed it because of the rain that was forecast....so luckily a week later the sun was finally shining, yay!!! Unfortunately a week later, Spency himself wasn't feeling too hot, but we still had a great time nonetheless :) :)

Grandie was there, along with Bubu & Popsie, Aunty B & Uncle Pete, Numy & Uncle Jo, Aunty Jose & Mattsy, Aunty Tash, Aunty Linda, Great Aunty Jill & the cuzzies (Pod, Ella, Seth, Shylah, Bronson & Larielle). What a lucky big (little) one year old he is to be surrounded by so many people who love him to pieces!!!

I found a cool party invite on Pinterest a couple of months ago that I really wanted to do, so a few weeks back I cut out the letters & got Spence out on the deck to snap a few quick pics of him holding the "O" the "N" & the "E", but as usual he wouldn't have a bar of it :( :( ....

Would've been a bit rough to send Mac's moosh out on Spencer's invite though, so after yet another photography failure I just gave up on the whole invite thing....

Until 2 days before the party that is, when I decided that I should've sent out invites after all....so whipped up these little beauties

I'd decided on a pizza & chips/cake & icecream menu for the party just to keep things low key/low stress/low mess, but being the snail in the kitchen that I am when it comes to prep for any kind of party or event, I still managed to stay up till 2am in the morning! (Which I find sooooooo hard to do these days What a nana I know!)....but anyways the cake & pretzel/chocolate spider webs I made to sit on top of our bowls of icecream turned out great so that was cool :)

Spency's 1st year

I was planning to post the pics from Spency's party yesterday tonight, but instead I got distracted catching up on a few of my other favourite blogs so it's gonna have to wait another day.....here's the video I made of Spency's 1st year that we watched yesterday though :)

Am still in denial it's been a year already....

My little Spider turns 1!!!!

A year ago today our gorgeous little Spency Wency Spider was born. The year has flown by so fast it kinda feels like a dream.....but one thing's for real & that's how much we absolutely love this little guy!! 

His sweet cheeky grin & cute little giggle melts my heart a million times a day & although we joke about how we should've called him Spencer "high maintenance" Leone rather than Spencer "Cruz" Leone 

(cause he's been anything but cruisy lol), we wouldn't trade him for the world!!! 

So my gorgeous little baby boy, one thing that Mummy loves about you on your 1st birthday???

Your eyes can scan around a room & pick me out in a second :) :) I love that you feel safe & secure with me & that I'm the one you want to spend every second of every day with! How lucky am I to be your Mummy :D 

You're growing up way too quickly so I know I need to enjoy this while I can :)

The first two photos below were the pics of when Mac first met his new little bro the morning after he was born. I thought it'd be cool to do a comparison shot today to show how big Spence has gotten now a whole year later, but to no avail :( 

We tried to wrap him in a blanket & lay him down on Mac's lap, but the problem with trying this a whole year later is that our little Spider now has a mind of his own!!!! (How dare he lol!!!!) Scroll down to see the pics we got instead.....

My baby can walk!!!

I have to say that I didn't think it was gonna happen in time, but on the 5th of September - 10 days before his 1st birthday, Spency took a few steps :) :) Hooray!!!

 Six days on he's still massively preoccupied with the whole upright thing & pulls himself up, takes a few steps & then plops back down again a million times a day. It's so gorgeous to see a little one so determined & intrigued by new things..... Oh & proud as punch when he gets so much recognition for his efforts :)

I think Mac's been a little bit jealous of all the praise & attention that this is taking away from him, but on the other hand there's been HEAPS of giggling from the two little bros as Mac encourages Spence to motor around.  

Only 4 more days to go till party time, yay :)

Pod's 4th Birthday Party

We had such a fun day today at Pod's 4th birthday party! We've been looking forward to it all week so Mac was super excited when we woke up this morning & today was finally the day :)

I have to say I really do love kid's party food - & I'm pretty sure that'll still be the case even when I'm 80 something! You just can't beat a good old sausie roll, caramel popcorn & burger rings. You can always count on Aunty Mell to put on the meanest spread!! xx
