The April baby's birthdays :)

Wow, April came & went just like that, so with only one day to go I'd better post the pics of Mac & Dally celebrating their 7th & 1st birthdays :) ....

This handsome dude was pretty desperate for a friend's party this year & all he wanted was a day at the park to be able to ride bikes with them & rip around, but the weather in the holidays wasn't that great & when we did finally get a nice fine day it was a little too short notice to sort the friends & Aunty Mel & her crew were the only cuzzies around (not that that wasn't super exciting!)....so we just headed down to Marlborough Park for some pizza, chips & a play & then home to Peach for some yummy cake!

Then a couple of days later Dallin had an action packed 1st birthday party that started with a cuzzie sleepover (which included Aunty Bex & Aunty Sarah's crew from Hamilton) & then carried on to a super fun play at Chipmunks on Saturday morning, with a yummy big feed afterwards :) Talk about spoilt on your very 1st birthday!

Aunty Mel made yummy lolly skewers for the kiddies...

And then a selection of all the best slices for the adults ;) Man a few of these would go down well right now!

Some cool pyjamas & old school books

This is a bit of a hodge podge post, but I've just downloaded these pics off my camera & they need to be recorded somewhere for memory's sake, so here we go....

Man I love these little brothers <3 I treated them to a new pair of jammies over the holidays & they were both so excited about them that they wore them whenever we were at home - day or night! Unfortunately the crotch ripped in both of them in only a couple of days though so Aunty Mel had the genius idea of taking them back cause of their crap quality. Shame though cause they looked so super adorable in them :(

There was also some MAJOR decluttering that happened during the 1st week of the holidays to take advantage of the massive bin Grandie had over at his place while doing his very last clear out/move EVER over at Ensign :(

I tried to persuade the boys that it was time for the Sesame Street books to go as they never get picked for the bedtime stories (+ they smell all musty from all their years in the cupboards etc! Actually the puzzle in the pic above has the same problem too! So cool having things from my childhood, but wish they could smell a bit better lol)...but the boys wouldn't have it!!! Man I wish I'd managed to get a photo of Mac's face on camera cause to say he was distraught is an understatement. It was like I was suggesting throwing him in the bin or something, that's how personal he took it!

So anyways, those books not surprisingly got picked as the night time read for the next couple of nights after their existence was threatened....but once they're forgotten again they may just magically disappear one day if you know what I mean ;)

The wuzzle book did get thrown but I had to take a photo of it first just to make sure I'll always have a record of it :)

And this one had a ripped cover & everything, but I had a quick flick through it as I was going to throw it in the rubbish bag & decided I just couldn't do it! It reminded me of a bunny picture Mum drew on a Mrs Bunny letter she wrote me back in the day & I decided I just needed to keep it a little longer xx

These ones I pulled out of a box Dad was throwing out down in the garage & I had to bring them home to show Mac just how hard out I used to be at school lol....full on title page for each new subject & hand-drawn borders on every page...don't think I'll ever find this much detail in my boys books, but wonder if any of my nieces will ever get into this?? (Ella ;)??)

Love taking walks down memory lane :) So grateful for the awesome family I was born into & for all the cool things we had & did that I now get to share with my very own special crew x

Easter 2015

So the start of the school holidays this year was also Easter weekend so on Good Friday we got up nice & early to be the first ones at the easter show :) (We were going with Grandie, Aunty Mell & Pod so we had to get there Grandie time lol... I actually shouldn't hassle that fact cause the easter show is one place it really is best to go before every man & his dog show up so it was actually heaps better & so easy to get a park)

Farmer Spence (not that Spence could ever be a farmer cause he's still so scared of being up close & personal with the animals!)

Farmer Grandie ;)

Cheddar block haha

Dad in his probably most loved ever piece of clothing (actually as I type that I notice those shorts are pretty well loved too lol...he has quite a few items of clothing that have really gone the distance...)

Or haven't I said should say haha.
5 seconds after this photo got taken his beloved (Wrigley's??)
jacket finally got binned!!! Talk about end of an era!

Then on Saturday night we were lucky enough to have Pod & Aunty Mel come for a special sleepover - be warned though that when Aunty Mel says she's coming for a sleepover, she literally does just mean sleep over....we went to put the kids to bed that night, the boys in their room & Pod in my room where her & Mel were going to be sleeping, & I went to have a shower while Mel was putting Pod to bed, thinking she'd come out again once they'd finished reading scriptures, but once I'd finished my shower & waited on the couch for her to come out again so we could maybe choose a movie, she never reemerged lol!!??

I asked her in the morning if she'd just accidentally fallen asleep, but it wasn't even an accident - she said she just didn't realise there was anything else happening haha. I'll know to be specific & not just assume things with my sleepy dog sissy next time ;)

Then in the morning I got a text from Aunty Jose saying the easter bunny had left some clues outside for an easter egg hunt for the boys so these guys were out the door in a flash!

And more than just a little excited with what they found! Thanks so much Aunty Jose! You're the best x

I mean what's not to love about chocolate for brekky right?!!

Baby Mac turns 7!!!

Last Thursday the 2nd of April our biggest baby turned 7!!! We've had a lot going on the last couple of months so I wanted to make sure that I let him know just how extra special he is to our family, so during the night I put up a little birthday sign & filled his room with a few balloons, so that he woke up to this...

It was also hat day at school that day so he headed off to school with a hat decorated to show off the awesome family he "belongs" to & a bula shirt & lei to cover his fijian culture. He was also wearing his black n white basketball outfit to show off his proud NZ side (the whole theme of the day was "belonging" so everything had to reflect the different groups/cultures that they belonged to). He was obviously too bummed to wear his fijian shirt & lei though cause he didn't end up wearing it for the parade!

Kindy was also part of the hat day parade, so Spence was super excited to wear Mac's old easter bunny hat from his
kindy days :)

Mac's wrapped present lunch made up of things that he loves (but that I don't usually let him eat!)

Then after school we'd just planned to go to Mac's swimming lesson & out to Macca's for dinnner with Grandie, but when I went to pick up Mac from school the Heke tribe had already beaten me to it :) What an awesome surprise that was!! I saw a pretty little girl that looked exactly like Pod walking towards me & immediately thought "wow that is uncanny how much that girl looks exactly like Faithy babe!!! I'll have to tell Mel!!"...And then as I turned to my left & saw Mel holding Dallin while looking at me staring at the Pod lookalike, I realised that the girl looked exactly like Faith, cause it WAS Faith!!!

And as if it wasn't special enough for them to just come over for a visit, Aunty Mel also brought a yummy afternoon tea with her! Cupcakes, chippies & Whittakers chocolate milk. She definitely knows her nephew well :)

Then to top off a bad food day that couldn't really get any worse, it was off to Macca's for his big Mac combo :D

So I'm pretty sure he enjoyed his big day & felt just how extra special he is to our family x

Here are 7 things I love about you my precious boy....
1. I love seeing the sweet way you have with babies
(especially your little cuzzy Dallin. You're always so loving towards her)
2. You are so handsome & have the most beautiful smile
3. You love to laugh & have fun
4. You're an awesome little swimmer & runner & you love to be the best at anything you do
5. You seem all tough, but you love to have kisses & cuddles
6. You are still the best sleeper :) Out like a light!!
7. You aren't afraid to try new things (I like & dislike this one all at the same time cause some of those waterslide & rollercoaster youtube clips you love watching make me feel sick to my stomach & I'm so grateful you're still not tall enough to go on a lot of those rides!!)

We love you so, so much my precious boy. I remember the day you were born like it was just yesterday & look at you now!! xoxo
